 The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Japan from 2008 to 2015.

He is recognized as the first Saudi ambassador to Japan fluent in the Japanese language, which enabled him to play a significant role in strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations.

Born in Taif in 1958, Dr. Al-Turkistani built a diverse career spanning academia, business, and public service.

 He held several leadership roles, including Director of the Arab Islamic Institute in Tokyo, Assistant Professor at King Saud University, and advisor to the Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs. 

Before his diplomatic appointment, he also worked in the private sector in senior marketing and executive roles, gaining extensive experience in strategic development and communication. 

Dr. Al-Turkistani holds advanced degrees in media, marketing, and international advertising from both Cairo University and Seijo University in Tokyo. 

He is fluent in Arabic, English, and Japanese, reflecting his deep cross-cultural expertise and long-standing engagement with Japan. 

 Mohammed Al-Sumih is an Environmental & Operational Excellence Leader and Senior Operations Engineer with over 16 years of progressive experience at Saudi Aramco, one of the world's leading energy companies.

He earned his Associate Degree in Chemical & Process Engineering from Jubail Industrial College, and later completed his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from the University of Toledo in the United States.

Throughout his career at Saudi Aramco, he gained extensive cross-functional experience across key operational areas, including plant operations, maintenance engineering, safety advisory, operational excellence, project management, and environmental compliance. 

His diverse background has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of industrial processes, asset integrity, ISO and EFQM standards, and large-scale operational excellence.

Currently, he serves as a key leader at Far East Investment Company, where he plays a critical role in driving strategic initiatives, supporting technology localization, and advancing industrial partnerships in alignment with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
